Every year for the 24th of July we go to Doug's house. They have a dinner sponsored by the city and they have a race after dinner. Cade has one the race every year for his age group since he was one. He is really proud of himself. Especially because he won a free hamburger for his prize this year. Cade has a really mellow personality unless he is playing a sport. He becomes really competitive and he really wants to win. Way to go Cade! Kip did pretty good in the race until he saw someone eating a Popsicle then he got side tracked and started running the wrong way. Speaking of running the wrong way if you look close in the picture of Kip you can see his stitches. He fell the day before on our bed frame and had to get stitches. It was tramatic for the whole family. Especially Austin who watched the whole thing. He felt so bad and was crying harder than Kip. Back to the race, Austin came in second place and lost by just an inch. He is practicing for next year so he can be the winner. After the races we went to the Mercantile and bought penny candy. It took us about an hour to spend our dollar because my kids couldn't chose between gummy bears and sour patch kids. It is a tough choice but I say gummy bears. Luckily it took that long because that is about all there is to do in Kanosh.
