December Activities

December is always a busy month because there are so many fun things to do.  We started out our activities early in the month so we could fit them all in.  One of our favorite activities is the elf scavenger hunt at Gardner Village.

We went to the Kaysville light parade.  I can't figure out why parades are either in the dead of heat or the freezing cold.  Why can't they be during spring or fall when the weather is nice.

We had our traditional brunch at Market Street for Clint's birthday.

One night we heard that Jake and Angie were decorating gingerbread houses so we invited ourselves over to their house.  Things are always more fun with cousins.

We love ice skating at station park.

Ice Castles in Midway:

Last year was a rough year for me.  After a few visits to the now care/emergency room I finally found a doctor who knew why I was always sick and in pain.  He thought I had endometriosis but the only way to confirm it was if I had surgery.  Since we have terrible insurance we decided to have the surgery before the end of the year because we had met a lot of our deductible.  So I quickly got everything ready for Christmas so that I could rest after my surgery. I was freaking out about having surgery and may have even given Clint a talk about what to do if I didn't wake up.  Luckily I woke up but the surgery did confirm I had endometriosis so I had to have a complete hysterectomy.  It has been a rocky recovery but it is nice to not be in pain all of the time.

While I was recovering the boys had a dance recital.  I was so sad that I missed it but from watching the video I could tell that they had a great night.
After my surgery we spent the rest of the month stuck in the house snuggling with these cute kiddos.  I had a lot of time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas this year and it was nice to have to slow down and focus on what is really important in life.  I sure am grateful to be their Mom.
