Oatmeal Chocolate Bribery Cookies

So today was potty training boot camp day one. Most of the day it went like this I would ask Cade if he had to go potty, he would say no then I would say well lets just try. Then he would hold it for hours until nap time when he knew I would put a diaper on him and he could go in his diaper. At this point I knew I would have to do something drastic to make this kid go pee. It was time to call in the big guns. I bribed Cade that if he would go potty in his new toilet we would make cookie dough. He was so excited that the poor kid sat on his potty for over 45 minuets. Finally he did it. He was so proud our himself he kept saying now I am just like all the big kids. All I can say is who ever said bribing your kids was a bad parenting tool never had children. Here is the recipe it really is the best cookie dough ever.

Oatmeal Chocolate Bribery Cookies
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup White Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
2 Eggs
2 1/4 Cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Soda
2 1/2 Cups Oatmeal
Chocolate Chips
I am not sure how long you cook them because we never get to that part. But I would guess it is about 10 min at 350 degrees.

You have got to be kidding me. Nikki, I did the same potty training boot camp today too. That's so crazy! My sister in-law was nice enough to come and teach him how to do it. Like I said Ryker and Cade are twins. Oh, and I totally agree with bribing, every time Ryker went in the toilet he got a prize.

Yea! I'm glad it worked. Keep the tips coming. I think we'll start trying with Iz in the fall.

Way to go, Nikki! Whatever works. I just talked to a dozen China moms at the park yesterday, and all the orphanage kids have had major potty training issues, just like Xanthe. Be thankful Cade wasn't tied to a potty at 6 months old! He'll catch on so fast. Especially with cookie dough. I'll do anything for cookie dough. Cade is my kind of guy!

Had I known how much Jake love Oatmeal Cookie Dough, I might have tried that.

Bribery unfortunately didn't work out so well for us and potty training. Jake kept trying to negotiate, the first day he was fine with 3 M&M, by day 3 he wanted 10 M&M's or he would just pee in his pants.

The old "kid just like you" thing. :)
