Summer Lovin

We love summer at our house but I have to admit when I feel the weather cooling off a bit I get really excited. I love the cool nights in the fall, leaves changing color, getting back on some sort of schedule, celebrating our anniversary, lots of birthday celebrations and the excitement of kids going back to school. Cade will be starting pre-school next week so we had to pack in a lot of last minuet adventures at our house. Luckily Cade and Austin have lots of cousins so we talked them into going with us.

We took all the monkeys to the Zoo to check out the animals. I think the animals had much more fun watching us try not to lose any little Dopps or Taylors.

Next it was off to the Sweets candy factory. We brought 7 of the most adorable umpa lumpas with us and luckily no one fell in the chocolate fountain. The kids loved seeing all of the candy being made and tasting jelly beans, orange sticks and taffy. (Does eating pear, peach and strawberry taffy for lunch count as a serving of fruit.)

After the candy factory tour we stopped at Farmington pond. We were lucky enough to have my nephew Jake spend the day with us but he wasn't to excited about the pond. It could have been that the pond had dead catfish everywhere or that he wanted to get back in the car and listen to Mama Mia. My favorite part of having him with us was the constant background music. He kept breaking out into the What's the name of the Game song from Mama Mia.

After our pond adventure I took Cade to his first play. My very talented nieces were in a fabulous play that only lasted 45 min. perfect for a two year old attention span. We loved the play!!! Golda and Ruby put on an Oscar performance. Way to go girls!!!

Then we ended our week with Popsicles at Grandma's house.

Ah yes, the official "car ride song performance from Jake", if they had American Idol tryouts in a car, Jake would be a shoe in.

I also notice my dorky child is the only one at the candy factory with the hair net over his entire face. :)

I can go to Park City any day next week. Just let me know when you want to go. Dinner was so fun last night, why don't we do that more often??? Oh yea, because we live so far away from each other!! Call me!!

Sounds like you had a ton of fun! I think that the sweet treats that you had at the factory does count as a serving! I thought of you today as I purchased a front door decor thing......since we were talking about how you LOVE the fall.

Cute! When I get my bearings in this new school year, I'd love to get the preschoolers together. I'll call ya!

Looks like a successful last minute hurrah! Sorry we missed the candy factory. And yes, Michelle I laughed about Jake's hair net too. Didn't you know he is already sprouting some facial hair?

You guys had such a fun summer! I'm sad it's over already! It went way too fast.

Thank you so much for my shower the other week! I had so much fun. I'm so happy to have such nice friends and neighbors! You are the best!

If you don't mind driving to Ogden I would love to do your hair! Or we can do it at my house in my makeshift salon (also known as my kitchen haha).
