Just a Spoon Full of Sugar

Sometimes in life we all need a spoon full of sugar. Last week we spent four wonderful days without the kids!!! We left last Sunday for New York, and spent the next four days doing whatever we wanted when ever we wanted. It was even fun to be on the airplane ride with just the two of us. I got to read most of Breaking Dawn and Clint almost finished his book. We even splurged on some really pricey crackers and cheese to make the ride more enjoyable. Once we got to New York Clint's Dad picked us up from the airport and we headed to a Restaurant called Ron's Landing. It is a little Italian Restaurant with the best bread and garlic Olive oil dip. After dinner it was late so we went back to our hotel. The next morning we got up early and drove up the coast to Boston. I think we were there during the best time of the year. All of the leaves were changing it was amazing. Once we got to Boston we went on a cruise around the harbor. We got to see the USS Constitution and we walked along part of the freedom trail. The next day it rained all day so we decided to take a city tour on the trolley. Boston is full of historical places as well as some touristy spots like the bar where Cheers was filmed. We also ate a lot of seafood and clam chowder. Some how we got talked into trying a famous Boston desert. It was a custard with Grape Nuts cereal. Defiantly not worth the calories next time we will opt for Boston Cream Pie.
After spending two days in Boston we headed back to New York. We had to tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. It was probably one of the best I have seen. Disney always does an amazing job. Before the play we went to one of my all time favorite resturant Carmines. It is on 42nd street in Times Square. I would recomend it to anyone but make sure you are hungry. They serve italian food family style. We ordered one dish and only ate about a third of it. The last day of our trip Clint's Dad had to work so we spent the day shopping and eating at Ron's Landing one last time. We had so much fun but I couldn't wait to get back to the kids. They didn't seem to miss us because my Mom and Aunt Jenny kept them busy back at home. It was so nice to be able to get away and know that the kids were having as much fun as we were. Clints Dad and step Mom were great tour guides we had so much fun being able to spend a week with them. Our trip was "Practically Perfect!" (One of my favorite new songs from Mary Poppins)

I'm glad you were able to get away. Your trip sounded so fun and the best part was... no kids. We love 'em, but it is sure nice to have a break.
