Austin has a best friend that he calls his Mamba. He has been best friends with his mamba since he was about 1 month old. I encouraged the friendship because I was sick of nursing him for 24 hours a day. Their friendship became even stronger when I quit nursing him when he was 8 months old. That is when he started referring to his friend as his mamba. As many friendships go there comes a time when you have to move on. We feel it is that time for Austin. He really likes this friend so we are just trying to limit there playing time to naps and night time for now. We have been telling him that only babies use
mambas and he is a big boy now. He keeps telling me "no I a bebe." So for now I think I will go with his logic, he is still a baby. Besides I like his friend it keeps him very quiet especially at church.

I hear ya. Collin was the same way. Loved, loved, his binky. When you decide to do it, the method we used, worked like a charm. I snipped, the very tip top end, ever so slightly. When he went to pick it up and stick it in his mouth, he brought it back to me and said, "It's broken." I then had HIM throw it in the garbage. Nap time and bed time was rough for about 2 or 3 days. After that, he was cured. Good luck. When they love something so much, it is hard!
I love those Mamba's very much. Luckily Beckam isn't too attached to his so hopefully it won't be too hard to take away...now that I say that it will be a nightmare.. haha
I am trying to keep Jack a baby for as long as I can. Adam keeps telling me I need to tell him that he is my big boy now since Colt will be here in a month, but I just can't do it. I don't look forward to the day when I'm "grown up enough" to start being the parent. I don't think I'll be good at enforcing rules. I am so in for it!!
Brigham had his until he was 2 1/2 so I wouldn't feel too bad. I did reduce it to only bedtime and naptime when he was like 1 1/2 though. So for a year that's what he used to go to sleep. We tried like 5 times before I just had to be strong and not turn back.....GOOD LUCK!
Oh and Cade really is a little angel. Such a cute post!
I swear Brooke was the same way when she was Austin's age for her it was a blanky that she called "minna" to this very day she still calls that same blanky her "minna" Mason however loved the binky. Austin you are adorable.
I feel sorry for the little guy! I still remember how much I loved my binky, so I must have been pretty old when it was taken away! Ari still misses hers, 4 years later. I felt so sorry for her when we snipped the end off. It was tragic!
Tragic is a good word for when we took Neeley's away. It is sad to see that comfort go but good to see their smiles again!
Love toys that keep them quiet and occupied during church. Hope all is well! Your boys are very handsome! Austin has the prettiest eyes!!!
