The week before school started Clint had to go to Bear Lake to build a cabin so we decided to tag along. We spent a few days at my parents cabin and then we headed to Yellowstone for a last minute road trip. Circe was on a road trip around the country so I was kind of jealous. This road trip wasn't nearly as cool as hers but it worked and the kids had fun. The kids were so excited to see a bear so we decided to stop at Bearworld. We drove around and saw the bears a few times and then went and rode on the rides. We all thought bear world was really fun even Grandma and Grandpa had fun going on the bear rides.
The next morning we went and saw an IMAX movie and then drove up to see the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. When we got there it was quite the hike down to the look out. I think the kids were pretty impressed with Grandma's hiking skills. After seeing the Grand Canyon we made the short drive to Jackson Hole for dinner. I made the decision that we wouldn't eat lunch we would just have an early dinner in Jackson hole. Unfortunately our short drive consisted of a lot of traffic so we were starving when we got there. The kids were really good in the car but Clint on the other hand should be feed. He was really mad by the time we got there. (Note to self keep husband feed for a peaceful, happy road trip.)
We made it back to the cabin just in time for the girls to get kicked out. The boys had a fun weekend planned with their uncles and the boy cousins. They golfed, fished, went to movies and ate lots of treats. They were pretty tired when they got home so they went to bed early so the would be ready for their first day of school.
They also have a little petting zoo where you can feed the animals. Jersey and Kip loved this part of bear world.
Bear world had a cute little café and they served bear French fries.
This little girl loved the fries but mostly just ate the dip. I sure love this cute girl.
After visiting Bear world we checked into our hotel and then went to Yellowstone. Our first stop was the The Firehole. We had fun going up and down the Firehole shoot and all of the boys did some cliff diving. I didn't take any pictures but the kids loved it. After we went swimming we went to see Old Faithful and had dinner and ice cream in the Old Faithful Lodge. When we got back to the Hotel we put Kip and Jersey to bed and took the two older boys to the hot tub. They thought that it was pretty cool to stay up really late with Mom and Dad.The next morning we went and saw an IMAX movie and then drove up to see the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. What a fun trip! I'm jealous of your visit to Bear World. We've always been too cheap to go, but next time, we're doing it! It looks cool.
