2 Buck Tuesday

I had a brilliant idea to take the kids and cousin Jake to Thanksgiving Point for 2 buck Tuesday.  I was thinking that every other school district but ours was is school so we would have the whole musuem to ourselves.  I quickly learned how wrong I was when we showed up at 10 and there was a line clear around the building.  We decided to brave the crowds and stay since we had driven almost and hour to get there and it turned into a really fun day.  The kids didn't mind the crowds and a lot of people left after lunch.  The kiddos thought that dinosaurs weren't real and didn't believe me when I told them they were real bones.  I guess they haven't had many lessons in the history department.  I am so glad we got in some sort of educational lesson this summer.  After hanging out at the museum we had a snack and drink and the went to the gift shop.  The boys had some birthday money that they wanted to spend.  After an hour of looking at every little item in the store they decided they wanted their own Geodes.  That kept them entertained the entire ride home as they tried to pound their way into the rock to see what was inside.  Cade was the first to crack his and was beyond excited to find "crystal inside his rock." Austin exclaimed these much be worth a thousand dollars, and Jake said I don't think they sold us a three dollar rock if it was worth a thousand dollars.  Jake is so wise!  We are glad he came along with us.  As the kids pounded rocks on the way home I pounded some fudge.  The gift shop had a 1/2 pound of fudge for 2 bucks.  It was sweet.  We can't wait until we can go back.

Jersey is just like her Mom she hates staying home all day and gets bored so she loved her little field trip to see the dinosaurs.

Watching a real paleontologist

Playing in the sand and water with about 100 other kids

Kip was so excited to see dinosaurs he even had to wear his dinosaur shirt
I think he was a little nervous the shark would eat him

He was a little happier knowing if the shark ate him he would eat his brothers too

Digging up dinosaur bones with another 100 kids.  It was pretty fun to watch the kids, they had brushes you could use to brush the sand away from the dinosaur bones and if you dropped your brush  you were out of luck another kid would snatch it up so fast.

My cute little buddy
