Lake Meade Houseboat Trip

This summer we have really missed not having a boat in our family.  We sold our boat and Jake and Angie sold their boat so we have been looking forward to boating with Clint's Dad all summer.  We left Thursday afternoon and headed to the houseboat.  Jersey had an ear infection so she was really grumpy the whole way there so we couldn't wait to be out of the car and on the boat.  When we got there Doug had a cute little birthday party all ready for the kids.   He likes to celebrate all of their birthdays at once.  We had cake and ice cream and the opened presents.  The kids were spoiled they are lucky to have such a fun Grandpa.
Doug has a cool table with all of our hand prints on it

Blowing out the candles and singing happy birthday

Jersey was so happy to get out of the car!!!  So was Mom I hated listening to her cry.
The next day we headed out on the lake for some wake boarding and swimming.  The water wasn't that great because it was pretty windy but the kids had fun wake boarding.  They all did really good and Cade, Austin and Max all got up.  Now we just have to help them stay up.  We got a little taste of what boating is going to be like in the future.  The kids wanted to go over and over again and we never got a chance to go.  I am glad that they like boating as much as we do though.  All the baby girls liked boating and we even took Jersey out a few times.  I wouldn't say she liked it but she didn't hate it so that was good.  While we were out having fun on the boat Clint's Dad was so nice to stay on the houseboat and make us breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We had really good food and ate tons of treats in between.  I even got to read a book while Jersey took a 5 hour nap.  The kids also went cliff jumping for the first time and loved it.  They are braver than me I hate jumping from cliffs.  We had an awesome weekend and I can't wait to go back next year!
Lucy is the cutest thing ever!

I didn't get a great picture of Austin because I was holding Jersey and she was crying but he did a really good job for his first time wake boarding.  Last year he wouldn't even try it so we were so excited when he got up.

I love the sport setting on my camera it keeps on taking pictures so it almost looks like a movie.  Cade did great on the wake board he was so excited.

When we were tying the speed boat up to the houseboat Cade was holding the buoys and asked where do we put the boobies when we are done with them?  It was pretty funny

I had to trick Jersey into thinking her life jacket was just her blanket so she was nice and toasty in the 105 degree weather.

We call these two the bald brothers because they like to shave their heads like their Dads.  As Kip gets older they are becoming good little friends.  I am glad Austin will be home one more year to help me entertain him.

The kids love to watch their Dads do back flips

Love this guy can't believe we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this year

Poor Cade got a little sun sick the second day of our trip.  He loves going boating but it is so hot in Lake Meade that we have to be a little careful with him.  We made him stay off the boat on afternoon so he was a little sad but a Popsicle cheered him up pretty quick.

Jersey in her blanket/life jacket

Lily and Lucy chill in with their Dads

We love having such fun cousins.

All the grand kids with Grandpa.  We are so thankful for a Grandpa who takes "Time Out"  to have fun with us.

Nikki this is so awesome. i can't believe they wake board!!! Also, we have to invent some other form of life preserver for babies. Palmer hates, hates hers. I don't blame her at all it is huge and bulky and she can't sit up or move at all. Can't there be a better way???
