Long Week
What a long week we have had. We have been to the doctors 4 times, slept about 4 hours and used about 4 boxes of tissues. It all started last Friday when Austin went to his checkup he had been coughing and the doctor said it was croup. She started him on a steroid pill and by Sunday we thought he was doing much better. Later that night he started burning up with a fever so early Monday we went to insta care. After a really fun test where they stick a suction thing up your nose we found out he had RSV. The doctor then took a chest X-Ray to make sure that he didn't have phenomena. That was also equally as fun for Austin. They put him in this weird contraption that made him stick his arms in the air and then a plastic thing went around his chest. The plastic thing was then buckled tightly around his little body. The x-ray came out fine but it also showed that he also had bronchitis. Thursday we had a appointment with a GI specialist at Primary Children's Hospital. We were lucky to get in so fast because my sister in law had an appointment that her little girl didn't need. She was great! She is referring us to a lung/sleep specialist to make sure that Austin doesn't have sleep apnea as well as checking his lungs. He has always had loud breathing and at night he coughs a lot. She also wants us to do a feeding study to see why he won't eat solids. She had a lot of ideas for us on how to get him to sleep and eat so the appointment was well worth the visit. During the visit she also discovered that he had an ear infection. By about this time Cade also had a runny nose and it was inevitable that he would get sick. Early this morning, and by early I mean 3 AM he was in our room with an ear ache. Clint is taking him to insta care right now to get him an antibiotic. What a week! The good news is that now that I have an appointment with a sleep specialist Austin has decided he likes to sleep now. He only woke up twice last night and had 3, 2 hour naps yesterday. That will be just my luck that when I take him for the sleep test he will sleep all through the night. Anyways we hope next week goes a little better. We all have cabin fever and want to get out of the house.

Hang in there Nik! I hope it gets better soon. Let us know when they are feeling better and we'll come take them off your hands for a little bit so that you can do something for your self. I am sure you have forgotten what that is even like. I'm glad you liked the doctor. Dr. Pfeffer is the best as far as sleep studies go. Good luck. We love you!
Nik, I feel for you. I am no where near sleep deprived as you have been and I have been feeling it! Maybe all this has jolted Austin into sleeping more. Let's pray it last for you all! I often think of you when I am up in the night and wonder if you are too! I hope not. Love you!
Oh, the poor little thing! I hope you don't ever have a week like that again! Call us and we will run down there if you need us to. I can stay with the kids while you go to the store or hang out at Tai Pan or something. Monday morning is looking good. Let me know! Keep up the fighting spirit! Circe
